Why I'm Avoiding Big Tech's Playbook
Google and Facebook don't work for you - they work for advertisers. Their entire business model depends on harvesting your attention and personal data. That's not a game I'm willing to play. Instead, I'm building my own systems from scratch. The analytics I use will only collect what's absolutely necessary to improve the site. Want your data gone? Just ask and it's deleted - no excuses, no delays.
How We Handle Analytics (The Honest Truth)
When I first launched NoFluff Collection, I did what everyone does—I installed Google Analytics. But watching it silently collect user data made me physically uncomfortable. I realized I was feeding the very system I criticize. So I ripped it out and built something better.

- We note which websites send traffic here (like if you click a link from Reddit or a newsletter)
- Why? To know where our community comes from, not to stalk individuals.
- Technical Health
- Page load speeds (to fix slow pages)
- Browser/device errors (to prevent crashes)
- Bot traffic (to filter out search engines/scrapers)
- Aggregate Behavior
- Which pages get visited—not who visits them
- Search terms used on our site (to improve navigation)
What We Explicitly Avoid
- Personal profiling
- No tracking pixels
- No cross-site surveillance
- No "anonymous" data that’s actually identifiable
Third-party sharing
- Zero data sold to advertisers
- No feeds to Google/Facebook

support@nofluffcollection.com and we’ll purge it within 24 hours, no justification needed. We are building a system for this to manage it yourself, but it is not completed yet. Even when that system is in place, you can still send an email to us and we will delete it for you.
This isn’t a perfect system, but it’s lightyears better than exploiting your privacy for profit. I’d rather have incomplete analytics than compromise on ethics.
Built Differently From the Ground Up
While everyone else uses WordPress or Shopify templates, we're coding this site by hand. Why? Because pre-packaged solutions come with hidden tracking and unnecessary bloat. When you control every line of code, you control exactly what does (and doesn't) happen with user data.
The Value-For-Value Approach
This model was inspired by the
No Agenda podcast's radical honesty. Instead of monetizing through ads or data mining, I succeed only if I create products you find genuinely valuable enough to purchase. No manipulation, just straightforward value.

In a digital world that increasingly feels exploitative, NoFluff Collection is my attempt to prove there's a better way. The products you'll find here have been carefully selected or created to actually solve problems - not just to feed some algorithm.
Will this approach work? I don't know. But I'd rather fail with integrity than succeed by treating customers as data points.
